The first quarter of the school year is done. Students in Photography 3-4 have shot, developed and are starting to print their first rolls of film. They have worked with pinhole cameras, made cyanotypes and photograms. They are now learning to work with filters to control contrast and learning the fine art of printing photographs in the darkroom. The Photography 5-6 students worked on a found film project, made books with Japanese stab binding, have been learning to hand paint photographs, and printing on fiber based papers. They are just starting a self portrait unit.
We just began the Photo of the Week competition. The themes were RED for 7th period and YELLOW for 8th. Here are the winners:
