It is definitely feeling like spring. The light lasts much longer in the day. That is great for getting more photographs! The digital class are working on surrealism and photo montage. Lots of imaginative work being produced. The 3-4 class watched a film on Annie Leibovitz and got inspired for our big portrait unit. Can't wait to see what this talented group of students do. In 5-6, we are finishing up self portraits. Students just got done with their awesome star books which show a small history of their lives and the people that are important to them. I love these. Many of the students enjoyed these so much they made more than one and are giving them to friends and family members as gifts.
Students in the 3-4 and 5-6 class are using their blogs more for photo history and aesthetics. They are learning about some of the early pioneers of photography. Check out all of the student blogs to see what they are up to.
Here are a couple examples of works done by the photo 1-2 class for the last assignment-alternative process through digital means. These are emulations of wet plate collodian and daguerreotypes done digitally.
